Here's another fun project I did with John Fielder and Claudia McAdam. John uses llamas to carry his photography equipment when he backpacks into the mountains. Inspired by this, Claudia wrote a wonderful story from the llama's point of view. Together we selected the best photos from John's collection to tell the story. I then imagined what the rest of the scene would look like to the side of the camera lens. I incorporated a design element for the book where my illustration would always start on the left and blend into John's photography on the right. Illustrations dominate the spread as the story starts with John's photography taking over towards the end. I used Photoshop to seamlessly blend the two mediums.

I had a ball on this project. It stretched me creatively and I would love another opportunity to combine illustration and photography.
